I installed the daylight savings time patch and the time change fine last sunday. However, all my outlook calendar appointments are now showing up one hour later, e.g., a 1:30 meeting is showing up at 2:30.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I installed the pre-release Cingular rom a while back, not the DST patch and I have the same problem.

you need to run the Outlook DST update tool which will move your appointments accordingly:

I have a mac, and I use missingsync and iCal.
So this outlook update tool will not work for me, I think.

Any other ideas?

Thank you!!!

I tried installing it on my computer (the Outlook DST update) and it says "operation failed". Is there any way to update it on the phone alone? Im also set up on an exchange server (mail2web) would that make any difference?

i just noticed all my appointments are now an hour later as well... and when i go to manually adjust them it shows the propper time scheduled, but when i look at them on my calender it's an hour late... so much for a patch... sounds like they have a bigger problem now, and they didn't test for it before they posted the patch... i also tried to download the outlook patch, and i too got an error message...

you don't need to run the outlook DST update on your phone. you run it on your PC and all it does is move all your outlook appointments accordingly to adjust for DST so they're not all off by 1 hour.

Updating your DESKTOP Outlook is not always the answer to fixing your appointments to the right time. For those who use their DESKTOP Outlook for syncing with their Windows Mobile phone then yes you need to install the patch on your DESKTOP Outlook. However, for people like me who use an exchange server for push email, calendar, task, and contact syncing etc. installing the DESKTOP Outlook patch does not work. My appointments were off an hour after installing the DST patch to my device so I contacted the IT department and they told me that Microsoft said we may have to first delete and then re-enter some appointments, specifically those that reoccur. When I would go to edit my appointments it would show the correct time. Then when I would go to the home screen on my 8525, my appointments would be an hour off. I went in and deleted my reoccurring appointments and re-entered them and tada! It worked! I know it is crappy to have to do that but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do!

Thank you for the suggestion.
I have a HUGE number of recurring appointments...
Re-entering everything seems pretty extreme.
Any other ideas?

carlos_pda At this time I have not found another way to remedy this issue. Maybe you could re-enter your appointments gradually. I am going to read more at Xda-developers forums and if I find another solution I'll let you know.

1st. The system should have already installed theOS level DST update/patch
2nd. install TZMOVE from a command prompt once downloaded with (tzmove /q)
3rd. Install the TZMOVE Hotfix also from a command prompt (rename tzmove2007-kb933146-fullfile-x86-glb.exe --> tzmove2007.exe) once downloaded (tzmove2007 /q)
4th. from the folder (c:\program files\microsoft office\office12\office outlook time zone data update tool) run: (tzmove /Q /ONLYCREATEDPREPATCH:2007-03-11T02:00:00Z) via command prompt

PS. You must administrator rights to the system to install the first two, and logged on the effected user to run #4

Do you have all DST patches installed on your Mac?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions...

Yeah, I have the DST patches on the mac...

(I don't think TZMOVE will work for me, since it needs a PC.)

If TZMOVE won't work for you just manually move the meeting up one hour and be done with it. That's all TZMOVE is doing. It's changing the DTSTART and DTEND properties ahead one hour. TZMOVE just makes it a bit quicker if you have a LOT of meetings. Otherwise it doesn't really do anything special.

The DST patch doesn't effect existing meetings. It just updates the time zone rule built into the PC or PPC so when a new meeting is created Outlook uses the rule defined on the system and calculates the correct GMT time which is stored in the DSTART and DTEND properties. When Outlook displays a meeting in your calendar it recalculates the GMT back into local time using the time zone rule for whatever time zone you have set. That's why existing meetings appear one hour off. It's using the old GMT with the new DST rule to calculate the local time. Just change the start time and it'll recalculate the GMT and it's fixed. New meetings will be fine.
