mine has yet to last more then 12 hours, but i used it internet quite a lot...does it hurt the batter if i leave im+ on while my phone is on my pocket, like on idle....

also, does your phone ever heat up ? like the battery side, mine gets hot sometimes, its kinda scary

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 8525: HTC-8500/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))

about a day for mine to. mine also does get hot when streaming with a sling box.

About fourteen to sixteen hours.

one work day--- abt 16 hrs if im lucky. depends on internet usage.

IM+ will be a HUGE battery hog, expect lower batt life with this on.

and yes, my phone gets very hot sometimes also.

Same as above. I get a day's work out of it and it occaisionally does get warm.

I unplug it at 7am, and it's fine till I go to sleep, usually around 11:30pm. Usually has around 30% left at that time.

Mine will get warm if I'm on a call for more than 30-40 minutes, and it gets hot if tethering, really hot.

ok im glad to know mine isnt the only one that gets hot...

The phone gets warm. That is an advantage when you live in Minnesota.

If I don't use bluetooth too much I guess I could see 16 hours.

I'm lucky to get 7-8 hours before mine starts popping the low batt message. I'm a moderate user though. I typically use 2 hours of talk time on a bt headset, watch 30-45 minutes of Sling, surf frequently, and mail. It was even worse before I disabled DirectPush and just scheduled my email on 15 minute intervals.

It didn't last long on my first day. Only 9 hours till it was @ 20. I gave it a full charge so let's see how it lasts today.

I noticed my battery life progressivly got better as i settled with the way i wanted to configure things on mine. I also wnet through a few Battery cycles to try to keep a relitively normal cycle on the batt since it's like any other cell batt. Also my phone gets warm/hot when i use the phone for an extended amount of time, about 30-40 minutes. And if i use anything thing on it while it's charging.

There are third-party extended batteries available. You end up with a phone with a distinct bulge, but it should help for heavy users.

Lots of places to find them. Here's one:

My phone has been unplugged since about 8 am. It's 9:45pm, and it's at 40% remaining. I've been on it for only 10 minutes, sent and received about a dozen texts, received probably 25 emails, and wi-fi has been on all day to check for emails without affecting incomming calls(no 3g at home).

I'm happy with the battery performance of the phone.

Cell phone (rather PDA) batteries have terrible life when they're brand new. When I had an 8525, I charged it and of course played with it non-stop draining the battery in about 3 1/2 hours. But after 2 weeks of use, these batteries usually reach near their peak performance.
When I see people complain of the terrible battery life of the Blackjack, Treo 750, 8525, etc. I usually assume (or it's apparent that) they've had the phone merely a few days and have probably use it a lot in that time.

After a good 20 charge cycles the batteries usually last a whole day relatively easy. Add to that, typically we play with them a little less.
