Silence incoming call - Cingular 8525

With the 8525, how do you silence an incoming call? I don't want to use the ignore button and send them to voicemail, nor do I want to just hang up on them, I just want the phone to stop ringing while I finish a conversation and then answer it before it goes to voicemail. I know I can do this with other phones but can't figure out what hardware button on the sides or bottom will do this.

Use the Scroll Wheel - it will kill the ringer but keep the call active
