8525 Alarm Issue

I use my 8525 as my alarm to wake me up in the morning. A couple weeks ago, I had set my alarm at 4:15am to wake me up which it did fine. After I changed my alarm time a week ago, my 8525 still goes off at 4:15am every morning and I do not know why. As of right now, my only alarm is set for M-F at 6:15am and that works fine but for some odd reason, it still goes off at 4:15 also. It says work alarm when it goes off. I've tried soft resets and I don't know what else to do. Any ideas?

1) i know this is going to sound stupid but did you un-check the alarm?
2) another thing to check is your calendar... do you have a re-occurring alarm set for and event for every day?
3) another option (the one i went with) is do a hard reset and install spb time

http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/time/?en

it has a demo period, but imho its well worth the 15 bucks especially if you are using the phone as your main alarm clock.

well the 4:15am alarm is not even listed in the Clocks & Alarms. The only alarm that I have checked in there is the 6:15am alarm. I don't have any re-occuring alarms set for any appointments or anything. This one has me stumped.

Check out Scarybear Check Notification - the alarms could be overloaded, and need to be manually removal.

Also, I have found when I set a temporary alarm like that, it is best - after you are done: Uncheck the box, and untap the day. Close out. Do a Check Notification test to make sure it is gone. Also, after each soft-boot, many alarms are usually added, so I just automatically run Check Notification and take them out.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 6.8) HTC-8500/1.2 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

this is an issue many have had including myself...only way known to fix is a hard reset

I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread - likewise I've had old alarm settings going off without any trace of where to change them.

The warnings on the Scarybear site state that their s/w not designed for WM 5.X - has anyone installed and had issues? Anyone care to state that its reasonably safe to install ...

Yes, I've installed and used it safely on the 8125 and 8525. After you've read the caution on the website, try it:

After soft-boot or alarm changes -
1) Open Check Notifications - it will automatically check and make a list of your alarms, events, etc. I use the stylus to move the bottom scroll bar to the right until I can read the "Dialog Text"
2) Nulls are usually safe to remove, but are infrequent for me. (To remove, tap and hold the item, tap delete from the pop up menu).
3) The black ones are usually safe, the ones you pay attention to are red - those are the duplicated events. However, if you have the 4:15 alarm still going off, it might be in there as black, so you can remove it. (Tap and hold, tap delete).
4) Now, be careful deleting the reds. They could be ok. For example I have an alarm that goes off 5 days a week. I will see one black (original) and 4 red (duplicates). This is ok, as it needs 5 alarms in the system. It is when there are more entries than you need in a given week.

If you have an alarm that is once a week, it is safe to delete the reds.

That is how I use it, and I haven't had a problem. I do not use any of the settings, and I will use Refresh after I've used it once - changed my alarms around - then I check it again just to make sure.

I found on another thread in this forum that if you go to settings -> sounds & notifications -> notifications - choose event: Reminders -> and uncheck everything and hit OK. Then go back in and check what you had before and click ok. I tried this yesterday and this morning at 4:15am the alarm didnt go off. Seems to have worked. I'll see again tonight.
