flip and wrist strap, more harm than safe

i find with the flip off, and the wrist strap off, the phone is much more protected more this way... my observation is that with the wrist strap being on, while walking around certain things it could catch onto something and just take the phone out of your hand. I had this kind of thing happen to me before with things with straps on em, and its not a pretty site when your $900 phone flys out of your hand and falls on the ground... so i think the wrist strap is dangerous, so thats why i took it off and removed the flip as well... those metals pins if supplied enough pressure can crack the screen, i've read on a few forums of a lot of ppl with cracked screens due to this...

yeah, the strap dilemma has its good points and bad. Bad point, as you mentioned, with the possible catching on to somehting. The good point is, i carry the phone in my hand most of the day. when i am walking down the street, I can bump into people, and they can throw the phone from my hand, but the strap prevents that. Also, it can be very convenient to hang the phone from your hand when you need to do something else with your hand.

The screen thing -- well, I already crakced the screen once from dropping on a wood floor, with the keypad on. But the doenside of the keypad off, is the lack of the nice "feel" of the buttons, which, when making many outcalls, and many call waits and conferecing during the day, like I do, is very important for accuracy.
