Has any one heard of any software that will program contacts on the 8400.

Evidentally there is something new going on this phone and the software I bought won't work.

Thanx!!

I am using a SCP7300 and use BitPim to deal with the contacts, does it just fine. however ringtones, thats a whole diff story,

use bitprm - it works great.

I tried PitBim and it wouldn't connect... apparently Sanyo used some new format or file structure in this phone that makes it incompatible with all the software. I even purchased one to no avail.

If you are actually using BitPim on a SCP8400 can you email me with how you got it to work. Tnx

unless you are doing something wierd there is really no reason to use Bitprm on this phone. if you store all your contacts in a vcard file in the folder sd_pim yoiu can then restore them to the phone. you can load all the mp3's you want into the media folder and it works just fine. i haven't yet played with wallpaper and ringtones, but i am sure if they are loaded into the appropriate folder you can use them. i just plug the phone into the pc using the usb cable that came with it and then select "mass storage" on the phone. i can then access the sd card without even removing it from the phone. i have a 2GB sd card. the save/restore feature of the contacts on the phone is a really slick feature. if you have saved your phone book using bitprm from another phone, simply export it as a vcard file onto the sd card and then hit restore on the phone.

vista wont recognize my 8400 with USB cable, know any drivers?

i don't know if the one for data pilot will work - www.susteen.com click on "online support" and then "downloads". grab the sanyo driver and see if it works.
