date formats

I have a V3m, so i suppose even if someone knows the answer to this it's not going to apply to me, but i thought i'd ask anyway....

I'm wondering about the time and date formats. Specifically, what determines them? I mean, for example, there are three date formats listed in the menu on my RAZR: dd-MMM-yy, dd/MM/yy, and MM/dd/yy. I can switch between these just fine. The problem is, all of these date formats are horrible. I want yyyy/MM/dd or at least just dd MMM. Is it possible, in any version of the Motorola firmware, to achieve something like this?

yyyy/MM/dd in particular is the date format in use in China and Japan, among other countries (i think Sweden is another one). I know there are RAZR language packs for at least Chinese and Swedish -- is this date format an option when using those languages?

Any information would be great, thanks.

The language packs are for GSM phones, NOT CDMA's... you can NOT add a language pack to CDMA Moto's...

With the CDMA's you are stuck with the formats your phone's menus offer... and that is it...

PS... Verizon/Moto section (where the Verizon user's hang out) see -> http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=294
