Can anyone give me a detailed and thorough guide on seem editing my Verizon Wireless Krzr K1m I know the basics, I have all the programs and MSU and got everything set up so P2kSeem4V710 connects to the phone but I am not exactly sure what to do to enable my phone so I can send files (ringtones, pictures, and videos) over MPT or P2KCommander. In other words I need a step by step guide to use P2KSeem, I just dont want to mess my phone up so can anyone help me out?

THANK YOU!

Hi Mr. Venture, assuming you're the same one, I have been downloading ringtones from your site: http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V710_Ringer/
I put them on my K1m via the newest version P2K Commander, 4.8.9.
I was so excited about all the free ringtones, so thanks abunch for all the info and variety.
Anyway, my problem is: I stored various mp3 and mid files in my ringtone folder. My phone recognizes and plays the files.....but I am not able to associate the ringtones with my contacts. Am I missing something?

Also, I was trying to figure out how to make videos that are compatible with the phone. The info I have read in various locations has not been up to date, and very confusing. Can you direct me to current concise info on converting to 3g2? I currently only have the ability to make wmv, mpeg, and mov files via Pinnacle movie editing software that came with my camcorder.

Again thanks for all your help.

Taylor

Alright I looked through the guide and I think I have figured this out but I want to run it through to make sure I am right.
Ok, So first of all once I have P2kSeem connected first thing I do is
1. type 2742 in the seem field.
2. type 0000 or 7A in the bytes field ( A. by the way does it matter if you use capital A or lowercase a?)(B. Which should I use in the byte field 0000 or 7A?)
3. type for Record: 1.
4. Then Click load from phone.
5. Then find offset 6a by scrolling around with the arrow keys.
7. Then once found click on the check box labled Bit 0.
8. Then click save to phone.
Once I restart the phone I should be abled to transfer ringtones and pictures to my phone through MPT or P2k Commander?

I don't have a K1m to know for sure.. but... I'm told the info I have at the bottom of -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/P2KC-Tones.htm does work for K1M users...
Quote:
NOTE: K1M users: Per some posts in the Verizon/Moto section at HowardForums... Ring Tones need to be put in a/motorola/shared/ringtones then "Highlight the ringtone you copied over. click on the "ATTRIBUTES" button in the lower right side within P2K Commander. Check the two boxes 1) Readonly, cannot overwrite/delete AND 2) System, survive Master reset/clear. Repeat this process as you copy ringtones to this folder."
Did you do that with the Attributes?

I haven't done anything with making videos... however, some of the stickied threads over in the Verizon/Moto section might apply -> http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=294

On the Seem Edit page it explains how using 7A (h) loads only a part of that seem file.. Using 0000 loads the entire seem file.

To fix offset 6A,bit 0... you can load either 0000 or 7A... since 7A hex is greater than 6A...

Oh, and you can use upper OR lower case.

There has been mixed results using MPT to ADD custom ring tones to the Verizon K1m. So P2KCommander is the way that is known to work...

Thanks Mark,
I used the info at the bottom of your page about deleting the db file. I also found that on another page. Luckily altering the attributes of each ringtone was not necessary. Yea!

I will look more into the link for videos when I have more time.

Also, can you tell me, do you have to use bitpim to make changes to calendars and contacts or can any of that be done through P2K?

Thanks again for all your help. This forum is awesome!

Taylor
