Disconnected Earpiece

I was hoping to know if anyone has had a problem with the earpiece in the Hiptop 2 becoming disconnected. I was talking on it last night and the speaker went extremely quiet to the point that I could hear something, but I could not make out what was being said.

When I press down hard on the button/earpiece, the volume returns to normal. Once I let off, it goes quiet again. I am assuming something has become loose or dirty in the earpiece. I'm still able to use the headset jack and the speakerphone (and the earpiece button still works fine), so I'm not completely screwed if I can't get it working again.

I'm going to attack it later tonight once I get a Torx screwdriver. If you've had this problem and have successfully fixed it or replaced the part, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks in advance.

You'll probably just need a new d-pad. I repair Sidekicks and this repair is easy, you just need the tools and another d-pad/earpiece.

How much do you charge to replace that piece?

I agree that this is an easy repair. The worst case would be a bad speaker.
