Hi, I was making some 176 x 220 wallpapers for my W810i, when it was displaying on the computer, the quality is awesome, right after I put it on my phone, the quality becomes crap, it's all pixalated, any tricks in making it better quality?

Make sure you tell it not to "stretch", but tell it to "center" the wallpaper instead when your phone asks you. If not that, then you may want to see what kind of compression you're using. It'd probably be best to save it in the highest quality possible. Other than those factors, I don't know what else it might be that's causing the trouble.

but the phone doesn't ask me to stretch or centre it, is there a setting? and also, I used Adobe CS2 to make the picture into perfect 176 x 220 resolution so it's in the best quality

I've always made my own wallpapers for my phone, and they turn out well.
The phone will only ask about setting like standard size or maximized size, if the picture is larger than the screen and/or different size ratio to the screen.
Since you've made them to 176x220, it doesn't need to ask anything. As for reasons why you're pictures are pixelated, it could be that you're picture size may be wrong or more likely that you're not saving your pictures in high quality. If this happens, PS CS2 will save it in a lower quality picture in order to save discspace.
So check your settings, make it "12" it wont matter, max size i get is 100kb from a wallpaper (176x220). Then also recheck your saved file before you put it on the phone, to see if its quality is up to par.
If you still get the same problem, send me a PM and ill try it on my w810, or try to adjust the picture for you.

I actually used CS2 to make the picture to the maximum quality which is "12" and I was wondering if I used a picture a bit bigger, would that be better?
oh and also, does the original size/resolution of the picture have any effect on the outcome of the wallpaper I want to make? because for some reason, the wallpaper I made from an 1024 x 776 wallpaper was way better than a smaller picture, was that just coincedance?
