mms messages from BJ freezes LG vx3300 phone on verizon

my picture messages seem to be freezing my gf's LG vx3300 phone from my blackjack. when she tries to open the pic messages, the phone freezes and the only way to unfreeze is to take the battery out. she can send me pics no problem.
i have the picture size set to the biggest size, can this cause a problem? anyone else have mms problems with other phones not being able to view?
