unlocking sidekick 2

How will I go about unlocking a sidekick 2. My friend says that T mobile will unlock it but i've also read that they have stopped unlocking phones. Also if i bought an unlocked one off ebay could I just put my sim card in it or is there other steps for it?

1. T-Mobile does not unlock Sidekicks anymore.
2. An unlocked Sidekick/Hiptop will not have any data service if used on any other network than it was originally built for (eg. Tmo Sidekick will only have data on Tmo, Suncom Hiptop will only have data on Suncom). If you choose to use another carrier, you will only have phone and texting capabilities.

ohhh ok so I guess the only way to get an unlocked sidekick 2 is to get it off ebay?
