Hello all,
I am fairly new to this world of PDA phones. After reviewing all my options for my next phone upgrade i decided to purchase the Cingular 8525 along with 4 other phones with the new PTT feature. Now i have to be fair and tell you that Cingular went out of their way to upgrade all my accounts and merge them. They also allowed me to upgrade one phone that was not yet due to be upgraded. Cingulars in store customer service was nothing short of wonderful. They took time to review my acct. and suggest changes that saved me money. I also quailified for a discount that i was not aware of. I returned 2 phones without question for replacements. I was originally told that the PTT feature would be working by end of month (February 2007)
Thats where the fun ends. my subsequent questions to Cingular by phone have ranged from " I dont have that information available to "try back in the middle of April" Reading Cingulars own forums will not give you an answer either. They basically tell you to contact HTC as they will be issuing the update. Oh by the way from what i can tell Posts regarding the ROM update are no longer allowed it seems. HTC response results in some canned response about "Rom update is on schedule for 2007" . Now i dont think any computer company would ever be allowed to give this level of service from any one of us. Imagine Dell selling a laptop with CD/DVD that would only allow DVD burning with a future update.
I would really like to know what the big secret is ????? Is there an update and when will be available? Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
