Holy holy miss moly!!!!!!! I have just spent about 4 and 1/2 hours downloading, skinner4moto, skiman something, I think every p2k known to man and am still stuck with my cingular v3xx's crappy theme's!!!!!! I can work skinner4moto fine, but when I go to install it brings me to the p2k(again tried every version)and it goes through all the steps, and actually ends acting like it went through which it didn't! In the box on the bottom it keeps saying, failed, and now I'm getting the box pop up that says not connected! First I guess on the p2k thing, what should each side be on? Drive c, drive d? And exactly what am I supposed to highlight on there? I checked the correct "fast" box on options, but am thinking it's the actual two sided screen and pull down menu that I'm messing up. Can anyone explain to me what it should look like? I run windows xp, and have the v3xxx, and have installed the p2k's in 2.6,3.0,4.9.2 and 4.9.8. I get /a,/b,/c,/e,c:drive,d:cd rom, and 92k phone seems as choices on each side on the top pull down selector. Any help would be GRRRR888888TTTTLLLYYYYY appriciated! Thanks

sounds like you are using an older version of P2K Commander. Is that right? If so, click on P2K Mobile Phone on the right hand side and it should read the contents of the phone (assuming the drivers are installed. depending upon the settings, it will read the /a /b/ or /c drive of the phone. the computer drives are on the left side of the screen.
you want to install the skins to the /c/mobile/skins folder, so if you are not on the /c drive, on the menu bar, select Options and then check the box to read the /c drive. re-reaed the phone. you should see the /c drive. navigate to /c/mobile/skins and you should see the skins currently on the phone.
to install a new skin, create a new folder with the exact name (including capitalization) of the skin you want to install. copy the ski and dat files to that folder along with any wallpaper etc.
it is much easier to use skiman as it does everything for you when you select install.
i don't have experience with the v3x but these are the steps for most Moto phones.

I have tried the method above, created a new folder and added all files to that folder. when I click on themes or skins in the menu on my phone, I don't see that folder to apply them. I can most other things though, except this.
