Port 80 web access 7100t

I recently purchased an unlocked blackberry 7100t which works great as a phone!

I used to have a Motorola V3 with a data plan from cellularone. (I am roaming off of Cingular Towers) I could go to urls, and I had downloaded the gmail client and checked my email successfully with that.

Is there a way for me to access the web with the old data plan ($15/month unlimited data) (BB shows lowercase gprs) next to my provider name instead of buying the $50/month blackberry plan?

The browser was not loaded on the blackberry, I downloaded Opera mini, but it fails when performing the tests.

Thanks in advance for any help.

No, you have to buy the BlackBerry data plan. The reason being is because data on a BlackBerry is different than data on a normal phone. BlackBerries always route through RIM's servers.

FYI, the lowercase gprs indicates no data.

If you do a search on this topic, it has been covered before.
