Skype + Blackjack: Any final resolution?

I know, I know, "Skype on the Blackjack" as a discussion thread has come up a number of times. I hate to start another one, but...

I've searched the forums, checked out other sites, looked up instructions for getting Skype running on the Blackjack. I've tried, it works, sorta. I used the instructions here:

(Problems: Settings menu locks up Skype. Calls out locks up Skype. Both require phone reboot. Skype chat works like champ.)

So is there any definitive solutions/answers about whether Skype will work on the Blackjack? All the threads, blog posts, and web pages I've poured through don't seem to have any "final" outcomes.

Following up to my own post...

I found a link to the RIGHT smartphone install and got it setup:

It installed like a breeze, no problems. But calling is having the same freezing problems. FYI, I could get someone else to hear the ring, but my phone would lockup (or at least Skype would).

From that thread from Feb. 07, looks like there's still not much solution

Any word from the folks at Skype?

I have tried the newly released skype version for HTC Dash on my BlackJack. It is working flawlessly on 3G conn. Its not that bad with EDGE. Just a matter of bandwidth. Those who are interested, give a try.

Yes I have skype working on my blackjack also.. I installed the HTC Dash version 2.2 on my BJ WM6 and it works flawlessly...

Can you make calls and receive calls without blackjack freezing? Is your blackjack overclock? if so, what speed is the blackjack running?

No overclocking required as far as i know. I tried it on WM6 and it works without over clocking. Can make calls to regular phones as well as skype contacts.

I agree... Skype works great on my mobile.

that's so strange.... I have a blackjack with WM5 and it still freezes when calling or receiving skype. (no overclocking)... I am in a very good 3G area. Any idea why this is happening?

Here we go. Yesterday i have tried skype on both versions of Windows Mobile. It still freezes on Windows Mobile 5 and works without a glitch on Windows Mobile 6.

well i installed it without a problem but now i cant log-in, it says 'skype name and pasword were not recognized' . tryed reinstalling it couple of times and installed it again and still the same result....?.....any help would be apreciated...

but i have heard there is no 'internet sharing' on wm6???? like to have skype but not at the expence of 'Internet sharing' .... the chat function only wont work on wm5? thats all i need......

Why don't you try fring? it let's you chat and talk to your skype, msn, and google talk contacts all in one place... it's really cool and it's also free.

Using Skype on a Samsung Blackjack WM6 Flawlessly, From my personal experience "Fring" on WM6 Blackjack has poor and choppy voice quality. Maybe it works better on a different WM device.

Finally I CAN USE SKYPE!!!!

i have searched to forum with only minimal success about upgrading my blackjack from wm5 to wm6. Can anyone direct me to a good thread or site where i can get the upgrade rom? and instructions? is the process reversible if my third party apps do not work on wm6?

As long as it does not break any forum rules go ahead and PM me for the rom file. Keep in mind this is a non offical and beta version of WM6 for the blackjack.
