I got TT6 working on my M600. But I lost my GPS receiver on the sae day, so I can't actually test it out.

I have TT6 and SmartCom GPS with mine. Works great, painless.

Thx for the replies, guys. Happy to hear TT6 is doing the trick. Just ordered a copy and am looking at the Holux 240. Anyone hear good / bad / indifferent reviews on that receiver?

whatever7 & FuzzyClam:

Can you guys give me a sense of how much space the maps and voices in TT6 take up? Where are you guys located?

Thx.

I'm going to guess that would be flirting with disaster. The thing's flaky as it is. I haven't had a need.

Sounds like you just volunteered to try it.

good luck,
paul

Map of a single state is about 50MB. I use New England and Northeast map which is about 7 sates for under 200MB. You throw in a national major road map for 50MB and you are good to go.

When I go out of the home states I will install the additional Midwest or Southeast maps. So I use the national roadmap during the road trip and switch to the local map when I get to that state. TT runs faster that way.

If you want to install the whole U.S. map its over 1GB. In comparison the Canada map is very small in size.

Voice take up almost no space.

I am in NY btw.

Yeah, I've got a 4GB MS Duo Pro, and the TT6 maps for all of NA fit into about 1GB.

I'm a total n00b w TT but I just bought the DVD. My guess is that either would work but the SD version would be less convenient givn that the P990i takes MS cards, not SD cards. You'd have to transfer the data and you should be golden.

SmartcomGPS is not yet available for UIQ3 yet, did you mean Smartcom Navigator? I cant get my GPS working with Smartcom Navigator, how did you get yours to work? Is that why you switched to TT6?

I'm using TT5 and a BT GPS on my P910a and it works amazingly well.

Thx for the reply.

Just received my TT6 disk yesterday. Got her installed and now I wait on my receiver...and wait...and wait...

Alas, my GPS receiver came. I bought the Holux GPSlim240 ( http://tinyurl.com/yupcfy ).

Connecting the P990i & the GPSlim 240 was a snap. The bluetooth connection was fast and, thus far, reliable.

I tested the unit out on a few trips yesterday and must say I'm quite impressed with TomTom Navigator 6 & the Holux receiver.

The one gripe I have is that the P990i crashed a few times. Getting reconnected was trivial but inconvenient none the less.

A++++ on this setup.

Yes, it's SmartCom Navigator. I'm using TT6 because the maps are great, as is the routing. Only problem is that I can't save tracks/gps files in TT, or at least I dont know how to, so I do that using SCNav.

I have the i-Blue 737 GPS which quotes 25 hours on a charge, or something crazy like that. It pairs with everything with no issues.

good luck,
paul

Are you using your own maps for SCNav or do you have maps from a program. I think the homemade maps need to be calibrated which SC says you can't do with SCNav, only with SCGPS.
