Pearl Vs. E61 (Questions about Pearl) --> TMOBILE SERVICE

I have some questions, please, about Pearl.

I played with the Nokia E61 and I fell in love with the web browser. It uses a joystick and you can move an arrow cursor anywhere, exactly like a PC. So that's why I think I want to buy an unlocked E61 and use it with T-Mobile. I know the Blackberry Pearl has a trackball, which I like even more than the joystick. However, my question is How's the web browser work with that trackball? Is it just like a Windows Mobile Smartphone where it highlights everything and you scroll through, because if that's the case, then I can rule it out right now. OR is it more like the E61's arrow cursor browser?

Also...

How well does the Blackberry Pearl sync with my Windows XP computer? Will it sync well with my Outlook Calendar/Tasks/Contacts? I was always confused about this with Blackberries.

Thank you for your time.

Hey there...hard choice, but sounds like you'll like the E61 more. I believe the trackball on the Pearl scrolls through links, not just anywhere. I had the 8700G and the trackwheel works like the trackball I believe. I am not positive, but I am pretty sure.

I think the pearl is overall a better device, but if it's web browsing you're interested in then I'd probably go with the E61.

Ok, thanks for your help. The 2 things that keep making me look at the Pearl are: a) I can buy it directly with a new T-Mobile plan and not have to go through all the trouble of setting up services for the E61, and b) The trackball is a genious way of navigation.

I can deal with that type of web browsing as long as everything is there. That is a huge problem I see with Windows Mobile Smartphones like the Motorola Q. Some things in the web pages are formatted out. Is this the case with the Pearl's web browser? If it is, can I download Opera or something that would be better? I don't care so much about the way it is navigated, but I want EVERYTHING there. THAT's what I liked about the E61's browser.

Yes you can download Opera 3.1.....

Sweet, man! Do all new Pearls ship with this "Italy OS" or do I have to an update after I receive it?

Trackball with cursor style web browsing is the ultimate mobile dream....

Wait, didn't RIM just release a new S/W version for the Pearl?? YESS!!!
