N93i or N95

As the title says, should i buy N93i or N95 ? I'm mostly interested in camera (GPS doesn't mean anything to me). So far all the pics that i've seem from both camera phones seem very similar. I have used N93 in the past but sold it because of the excessive noise in the pics. It seems like Nokia has fixed that problem with N93i but the pictures have become softer.

What do you guys recommend. ?

considered as phones on the whole.. (not just camera),
i would pick the N95....

prices b/w the two are close...
but there is more features in the N95 and its newer...

N93 = take pictures and upload to computer..
N95 = take pictures and have the option to upload to the internet through wifi..

regardless i would still the N95 has the better camera

with N93i you can upload the pics to the internet too. N93i also has wifi.

my bad... i never paid close details of the features on the N93...
i think a lot of the cost for a N93/N93i goes into the innovative flip form...

whereas the N95 keeps it relatively traditional with a slider, albeit a two way slider... and focuses jaming more new features into it..

except for 5mpx camera and GPS (both useless at this point)....what other features does N95 has that N93i doesn't ?

- it's lighter than N93i and of course N93
- quadband HSDPA handset
- more internal memory..
- built in 3.5 mm audio output jack (good for your own headphones)
- newer symbian OS..
- bigger screen i think..
- they share the same battery... so hopefully the N95 is more effeicient

the n95 is pretty thick in person. like a little brick. n93i is big, but it's sleeker and cooler and nicer overall in terms of form factor than the original n93.

given that you're focused on the camera (no pun intended), i think a lot of it comes down to the form factor. do you like the twist and swivel form factor of the n93i? you'd better, since you have to twist and swivel every time you want to take a picture or video clip.

aside from that, do you ever print larger format photos? 5mp will give you a little larger print size than 3.2.

almost 100% of times, I do not print pictures larger than 4x6.

n95 of course, new and better advance features, lighter, bigger brighter screen

N95 records video in VGA @ 30 fps in mono.
N93i records video in VGA @ 30 fps in stereo.

N93i still uses the pop-port. N95 uses mini-usb. I think that's enough to give the edge to N95.

I do prefer the form factor on the N93i though. I should wait for an N93 successor, but I'll probably end up getting the N95 anyway.

How many times do I have to explain on here. The stereo vs. mono debate is pointless. The two mics that pick up the audio signals on the N93i are so close together it's essentially mono anyways. I doubt you'd even be able to notice the difference.

from an N95 review here:
http://forums.mobileburn.com/showthread.php?t=21430

The reviewer has used both N93 and N95.
He wrote this concerning the video capabilities:
Quote:
On top of all still image capabilities, the N95 records videos at VGA[640x480] resolution, at 30fps frame rate, identical to that on the video centric N93.

Quality in terms of fluidity of motion is quite good, although strangely, when you turn on ‘Video Stabilization’ the N95 suffers from a severe ‘rippling’ distortion when panning too quickly. [Might as well just turn that feature off]

Just as with still images, White Balance and Colour Tone options are available during video mode.

On ‘auto’ white balance and colour tone tests, the N95 consistently beat the N93 in terms of colour accuracy/vibrancy, especially indoors or locations of inadequate lighting therefore less frequent need to go into nightmode.

If you do choose nightmode, be prepared for a visible reduction in frame rate – this is slightly compensated though by a wonderfully bright scene that’s still in colour [as opposed to n93 which records nightmode in black and white]

The only limitations it seems is that audio lacks depth since it’s recorded in mono and no video light. A nice touch on the beta N95 was that video captured by the device can be used as video ringtones – now it seems to have been removed on the final version.

I'm looking into getting the N93i too and reading peopel's comment and comparison. To me, the N93i's biggest advatnage and over 3MP phones or even 5MP N95 is N93/N93i's 3X optical zoom which makes it the odd shape.
However, I've never seen anyone mentioned that.
Is that people don't care about optical zoom or the N93i's zoom lens is crappy?
