Auto power / locking vs. power button

Hey I recently bought the 8525 through Cingular and just cant figure out two things, or even know if they can be done.

First I was wondering if there was a way to make it so that even if the phone has gone into sleep mode (where you need to press the powr button for it to come back on) just sliding the phone open would power it back up? So far no matter how many things I've tried I cant make it do this.

Also, is there a big difference in battery life when you have the phone "turn off" according to the power preference pane after 1 min as opposed to not doing that and just locking the phone?

Thanks for the help guys, these forums are my main source of help for my phone and you guys are always super helpful.

well those things you can alway jsut find out your self just by using the phone... after a couple of days you will find out...

the locking you should beable to get it unlocked by pressing the power to wake it and then pressing the screen for the unlock

for the power issue of course it would conserve more power when the phone is off rather then the phone is in sleep, when it is in sleep all its doing is in low power and data recieving state it is still using power just not that much...
