Is there a difference between pocket streets for a smartphone, and pocket streets for a Pocket PC?
I have a moto Q, and someone emailed me pocket streets. I opened it up etc, installed it and it read 'pocket streets 2005 for Pocket PC.'
It wasnt able to install it correctly on my phone. Partly because I dont know how, also because it was saying that it 'wasnt for my device'
So is there a seperate street specifically designed for smartphones like the moto Q?
If so how can I get it? (free if possible)
and lastly, how do I properly install it?
All I wanted was to have a couple maps on my phone for when I drive around vancouver, but this is turning out to be a lot harder than I thought.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Paul

Yes, there is a PPC version and a Smartphone version. The smartphone version relies on menu picks, d-pad, and numeric keys to navigate it, I assume the PPC version has support for some touchscreen capability, but I've never used it so can't really say. But, there are 2 versions on the S&T DVD.
If you install it at the same time as your desktop product, and you have ActiveSync running w/ your phone connected, it installs automatically. Otherwise, there is either a setup EXE/MSI (run from PC) or a CAB (copy to phone and execute from the phone UI)...but I forget which it was (EXE/MSI or CAB).
You can buy pocket streets stand-alone, but it's like $20-$30 I think. It comes free w/ S&T 2005 and 2006, but it's been dropped in 2007. It doesn't matter whether you get the 2005 or 2006 desktop product, they contain the SAME version of Pocket Streets.
Hope that helps...
