I have a T-Mobile Dash that I wish to use for email retrieval using wifi.

Is there any way to set up PUSH or POP3 email retrieval without having a T-Mobile account with some type of data service?

I use a T-Mobile Prepaid account card with this phone.

So far, I have been unsuccessful in setting up anything.

If necessary, I am willing to set up a new Yahoo, Gmail or other free account to do this.

I use gmail and it's great.

here's the trick dont used the tmobile mail to set it up.

goto your outlook and use outlook to set it up.

just go to the messaging service on your phone.. its fairly easy to do.

He doesnt want to use any data transfer from his provider. If he does that it will know the account exists and then it will check and download new messages on gprs instead of wifi.

actually if you set it up throught the messaging app you will be fine. if you have prepaid and dont get the free internet then just set it to dl your emails never, and when you connect to wifi go to the app and select your account and hit send/receive. or if you get free internet with prepaid like i still do just set it to dl your emails at any interval you want.

I got it. I was able to set up pop3 email for a gmail account.

Problem was that I had not used the email setup within the messaging app.
I also had to turn on POP3 within the Gmail account

I had been trying the My T-Mobile Email setup

Sorry I forgot to mention that pop3 thing in your gmail settings.

hope it didnt cause you to pull out too much hair. lol

No problem about the pop3 setting within the gmail account preferences, I figured that out pretty quickly.
