Installing software on Nokia S60 without PC Suite

I'm new to Series 60 and want to start installing some software. I've got the Nokia PC Suite but I'm on a Mac, which doesn't seem to be supported. I've downloaded two applications, one of which is a sis file and the other has two files, a .jar and a .jad. I can't seem to find any guidance on where to put these files on the phone and how to install them. The software itself says to refer to the phone's manual, which in turn says to use the PC Suite, which I can't do. Can someone help? My searches haven't helped me out.

u should be able to trasnfer via the usb cable..just put it on the root folder, and u should be able to find it thru file manager.

or transfer via bluetooth, mac's bt is great... one reason why i my next laptop will be a mac...
