Playing M4A/AAC on 903sh

Hello.

I can't get my Sharp 903sh to play music. I have some m4a files on the minisd card. I insert it in the phone and use Media player -> Music player
-> My music

Then I get the error message:
"Insufficient memory. Cannot show all tracks"

How do I resolve this problem? Help please

What firmware are you using?

I have the JAP-version.

I have put the m4a files in this folder:

PRIVATE -> VODAFONE -> My Items -> Sounds & Ringtones

And yet the phone doesn't recognize the files. Both in the media player and Sound Gallery.

Another question; why can't I see the pictures that are saved on the memory card. I know there are files there, but they are hidden and my mac can't see them?

I would send them over bluetooth - then reformat the card. Then let us know if you still can't see them.

I transfered an mp3 over BT to the 903sh and it worked. It was saved on the phone and played. I moved it to the memory card and it still worked.

The problem is that I can't see the hidden folders using the card reader + osx. There is something about osx + Sharp 903sh that doesn't go along. The same applies to the pictures that I've taken.

Anyone got any solution?

Thanks for the help so far

After doing a lot of research I've found out these are the only solutions to transfering music to the JAP 903sh:

1. using Panaosnic's SD JukeBox. the jpn versions only support secure mp3 format (aka SD-audio), u'll need to buy a Panasonic SD-Audio SD-card reader/writer that bundles with the SD Jukebox. (try bikkubikku camera, they should have it) this one: http://prodb.matsushita.co.jp/produ...04&hb=BN-SDCGP3 sao u plug the miniSD card into the SD cvard adaptor then into the panasonic SD card reader and then transfer ur songs via the jukebox software
2. download from vodafone live!
3. record via optical line-in adaptor (similar to MD players). pick that up at a vodafone shop, should be the same model for V902, V602 V603 and J-SH53 http://www.sharp.co.jp/products/903...ge/option-9.gif it is listed on the official accessories list
4. record via analog in adaptor (again, pick that up at a vodafone store). im not sure if this still works, i only tried this on PDC machines (V600, SH-5x series)

This is terrible news and I can't understand for the life of it why it has to be so cumbersome.

Well if there is no other solution I guess this is for sale then.

I get my songs to play on the phone by just converting them in iTunes. Easy peasy. (for EURO FW).

I haven't tried JP FW because my USB cable is not here at the moment. If I cant see images I take with the phone then that will be annoying! I am using OSX too.

When you preview your photos on the handset... do you see them auto rotated or not?

Using JP firmware you just need to convert MP3s to M4A files using iTunes, and then place them in the correct folder (PRIVATE\VODDAFONE\My Items\Sounds & Ringtones) on the memory card. The music player should then find them.

Euro firmware supports MP3 files so you don't need to use iTunes for an M4A conversion.

Having said all this, I don't know why you'd get an insufficient memory error message. I've never seen this one on my Euro 903 before...
