Buying Ringtones

I've just got a GD87 ( I've been using a 7650 but decided to lose weight!! ). I bought mobileaction handset manager and USB cable in the hope of backing up the data from in case of theft/loss/damage to the phone. I have also invested a lot of money on ringtones to personalise the phone - in the UK £2.90 + wap charges for each one. The problem is that the ringtones only download directly to the phone and you can't back them up to your hard drive because they are coded not to be forwarded! If I lose the phone or it has to be replaced I will lose them. I understand all about piracy ans such, but is it fair to make people pay again for something they already bought ? Even if it is only the charges for re-downloading them I think it is too much. Does anyone know of software that will totally backup a GD87 ? I don't need to be able to backup the ringtones separately, just be able to get everything back on the phone if for any reason I have to replace it. Sorry about the long post.

THANX for any help.

I don't believe there exists sush software. I understand your concern though. But if the phone is lost or stolen i believe you have bigger problems then just a few missing ringtones. Then, you can always use midi files as ringtones, easily found all over the internet.

Thanx for replying. My handset is insured for loss/theft/damage so I have no worries there. The point I was trying to make was that did I actually 'buy' the ringtones (about 40k of code) or just the temporary rights to use them on one phone ? Think about the profits being made by these companies. A ringtone costs them practically nothing but they sell them over and over again to witless fools like me!! - yes I admit that I stupidly do this with every phone I get. Since the ringtones cannot be copied or duplicated surely a nominal price for them + wap access time would make them better value for money, although since I keep buying them I don't see why they need to reduce the prices. Anyway I own a Dell Axim 5 Performance (also insured) with a great deal of expensive software on it and sleep easily at night because I always have a full backup of everything on it.
