Is there need to upgrade?

I bought the phone three weeks ago and I am using it with Voicestream in North America, I also plan to be using it in greece from time to time so all this discussion about upgrading to the new software version has alarmed me(myt version is 2.9.0). Up to now I ve had no problems whatsoever and I've played around with it quite a lot, downloading staff in it and changing melodies etc. What are the problems I should expect? is it really necessary to upgrade? is there any new features with the new version?

There is no new features with the new firemware. The new firmware just makes the phone more stable and reliable.

the new version is 3.2.0...
the caller display problem fixed and the battery standby time improved!!
