BenQ released the A53, a low-end handset designed with the Chinese market in mind. It features a mini-USB connector, as per Chinese law, MicroSD slot, MP3 player with dedicated controls, 1.3 megapixel camera, and it comes in three color schemes: "Jiangnan" cherry blossom pink, a "Jiangnan" blue/green striped pattern, and black with an interesting looking square pattern. The handset is priced at 1588 yuan ($205) without carrier subsidy and is available now in China. Handsets sold between 3/24-4/15 come with a limited-edition Disney box, and Mickey/Minnie figurines.
