When I put my T-mobile sim card into it, it said Cingular instead of T-mobile...
Why is that and how can I fix it?

it is reading off the cell tower rather than your sim. It actually gets better reception that way rather than looking for the closest tmobile cell tower, but you will not be charged for roaming. My unlocked L6 does this and I've found that the reception has improved when it doesn't read off the sim chip

You will need software that edits the alpha tag display. It's been so long since I've used the software, but I would check the stickies on this forum

Cool thanks!

when I put a Fido sim in my V3IT it reads Rogers Wireless. same thing... nothing to worry. Fido's network is run by Rogers. I've learned to Live With It

as long as your network doesn't charge for roaming, then you should be fine. Most national plans don't charge, it's only if you have a regional plan that charges for roaming
