I bought a used V551 from someone and the earpiece volume, even when maxed out, isn't loud at all. My signal is full and the battery is full. The speaker volume is extremely loud so it seems to be exclusively an earpiece issue.

There's also a weird thing where if I press down on the outer cover near the camera, the LCD loses power (presumably I'm shorting something when I do this). Maybe there ribbon cable is ****ed?

I had this issue and fixed it. Open the cover (4 T6 screws under the little grey circles. Then carefully reseat the little clip thing that attaches to the speaker.
