Branding Update — Handsets, Alpha Tags and Customer Bills Changing

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Branding changes are coming this month to handsets, alpha tags and bill statements.

Branded Handsets — Available in stores on April 16, the Nokia 6102i will be our first AT&T-branded GoPhone handset. The first post-paid AT&T-branded handsets, scheduled for in-store delivery in April, include the Samsung C417 (all colors), Motorola V3xx (Platinum), LG CG 225 and LG CU500v. As supplies are deleted, existing handsets will be branded as AT&T. New handsets will be branded as AT&T.

Handset Alpha Tags/Network ID — Effective Sunday, April 15, alpha tags (the company name appearing on handset screens) for new subscribers and existing customers upgrading their handsets will display AT&T instead of Cingular. Existing customers' handsets will begin displaying AT&T in late April. While the majority of customers' handsets will be changed in 60 days, the process is expected to be completed in about six months.

Customer Bills — Also starting on April 15, the invoice page of customers' bills will feature the co-branded "Cingular is now the new AT&T" logo. The AT&T logo is scheduled to appear on the invoice page in early July.

I was just wondering if and when the Alpha tag was going to change. Is there a source for this information or is it speculation?

What will it say when off network?

Posted by: ADSisson

Could you post a source for the information?
Not that I don't believe you. I would just like it varified

the info is correct

Info seems legit to me. April 15th is huge for cell phone companies. I can't wait for my alpha tag to change. Whoo more screen space .

Oh yeah any word on when at&t branded sim cards are going to be handed out. I will be fine for a while but for some reason i would just really like my sim card to match my alpha tag .

The info is from internal sources at cingular published for cingular reps. So it is correct

Alpha tags for existing handsets may or may not display the at&t on April 15th. But all customers handset will in about two months? Did I understand that correctly?

Odds are existing subs will not see a new tag for some time. They aren't all downloaded at once
