Strange motoK1 sound

I just bought my new Motorola K1 and it always has a strange STATIC sound .... 
And i cannot remove this small "g" sign (gprs) from the main screen - it is very annoying. 
please somebody help me - thanks for your replies.

what network are you on?? gsm or cdma??
