I bought a red blackberry pearl on cingular's network. i stopped using it and i bought two rizrs. anyway, i gave the pearl to my girlfriend and her service provider is centinniel wireless. she didn't have to get the phone unlocked and it worked on the spot. so we tried her sim card out on my old z500a and it still worked. weird, but cool huh?
