BIS & OWA Trouble

Just received a Pearl and trying to set up BIS to access my work email through the OWA server. I has no trouble setting up a POP account (Comcast) and the @tmo.blackberry.net address. When I try to set up the account I use the following:

email address & password
Outlook web address - https://www.comanyname.com/owa
(yes - it's a secure server)
user name - domainname\user name
Email account name - I've tried both the domain\user name and just the user name, neither works. I've also tried to check the name on the OWA site (as recommended on the RIM website) and that doesn't work on our server.

Interestingly enough, I have similar issues w/ EMOZE and my PDA.

Is there something my IT guy (small company) has to do on the server that maybe he doesn't know?

Thanks

I am able to use my company's OWA on BIS. Same url as I use for OWA from a computer and same username and password. It should work the same as it does on your computer. (Well except for trying to read the mail on the small screen but better than no access.)

Need to talk to your IT person to see if POP is enabled. He/She can probably help set you up much better than we can.

I thought BIS didn't use POP. I could be wrong. I know it's not enabled.

Using OWA has nothing what so ever to do with POP.

Right -- OWA integration has nothing to do with POP.

I've found that you can't always integrate via OWA though I have no idea what allows this and what doesn't. I have two Exchange accounts with OWA access but neither can be integrated with BIS.

I just learned that BIS doesn't support Exchange 2007. Looks like I'm suck w/ desktop redirector or forwarding by rule.

I have my comcast account set up just like a POP3 account. In the mail server section I have mail.comcast.net. No problems with email at all.

Comcast's mail system is a POP3 account.
