Sprint v3m rapid battery discharge

My phone, which is less than 3 months old, has begun to rapidly discharge it battery. The phone is basically unusable unless plugged into a charger. Off the charge it will completely drain the battery in about 45 minutes. If I make a call, it will go even faster. The battery area on the phone is actually hot to the touch. I've tried a different battery and the same thing occurs. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem?
