BB8800 sim card change

Does anyone know if there are any issues with taking your sim card out of the 8800 and putting it into a regular phone for a short amount of time. I am currently set up on the corporate BES server and an avid cyclist and don't want the berry to travel in my bike saddle. Any ideas? Will it mess up the push emails? Will it have issues when I put the sim card back in?

Thanks

No issues at all - I have done it numerous times.

When you put the SIM back in the Berry connects to the BES and downloads your emails.

I have a lot of phones and do this all the time. No problems at all.

Nope -- email queues while your SIM is out. Email needs to queue when your BB is unreachable or you'd lose email every time you turned your BB off or lost reception.

I routinely move my sim card from BB to BB, as I have more than one BB. It's a very nice feature to have this option, as I like to get away from the BB on weekends and move my sim into one of my regular light, small & thin phones. I have some unlocked unbranded phones as well as locked phones. At first I was concerned about wear and tear on the sim card, however after 8 months of moving it at least 10 times each week, the card still looks good.

Cheers....

Can you use your BB data when using a normal phone, so u can access the web (HTML/WAP)?

Yes you certainly can. It does not work the other way around however. If you have any other data plan it will not work with a BB. I like that the BB data plan will work so well with my other (non-BB) phones, as I have quite a few and really enjoy having some choices of phones to use just for variety.
