i know the w810i has better battery life, camera, and radio. but the samsung looks so cool, what do other people think?

It's hard to beat the sexy looks of the white D807. Feels higher quality than the SE, but as you aready noted, the SE has a more complete feature set. The Samsung does have a gorgeous 2.2" display though...

My main complaint (about both models) is the low earpiece volume, at least on the ones I tried. I do like the look and feel of the D807, but the W810 has a more complete feature set.

Thw W-810 is a complete phone...superior in every way to the d-807. Plus, you get all the cool stuff in the box...headset, SD card, software and data cable. The reception is the main difference...the d-807 is like two tin cans and a string, while the SE performs well almost everywhere.

my complaint on the 807 i couldn't change the theme because you can only use the preinstalled ones

the d807.

I used the walkman, and I didn't really like it. The d807 is just fine for me. I ended up keeping both, but the walkman is sitting in a drawer, and im using the d807.

I have actually used both, and personally i prefer the w810, the d807 looks cool yes and is a good phone, but all around the w810 is the best, and the walkman was nice when my ipod was broke for when i ride. Obviously its your decision in the end. I text alot and it was almost a "hassle" to get to the texting when it came to the d807, just a couple extra steps that you dont have to take on the w810, maybe i just didnt find the shortcut on the d807 but that is my personal review, good luck, either way you are gonna be very happy with either phone. And the w810's pictures were AMAZING when taken were as the d807 were tolerable.

I had the D807 for almost a month, and I returned it to Cingular for the W810i.

D807 -

Pros: cool slider, great color screen, cool slider tone when you open/close slider
Cons: can only use predefined themes (3), cannot set custom message tone must use predefined (5), camera on par with the Motorola V3 RAZR, low earpiece volume.

W810i -

Pros: Awesome battery life, awesome reception, great earpiece volume, customizable themes and available software to create your own, excellent MP3 player, comes with everything you need in the box as said above, extremely easy to use

Cons: no seperate tone for voicemail or text - uses the same, too much Cingular branding on the phone, cannot customize L & R softkeys.

You can set either of the directional keys to open a blank text message.

I am talking about internal and external. Cingular Jack on the battery cover, Cingular on lower part phone in the front, orange Jack on right side button, and then there is the stuff internally. I know you can debrand the phone, but I don't want to mess with a housing change to get rid of the other stuff. Battery cover yes, housing change, no.

Is it possible to accidentally unlock the keys on the 810i and call your sleeping wife from your pocket so she can hear music and bits of bar conversation? My SE600i does that. I'm debating the lgcu500 or Cinc just for that reason. My wife just doesn't appreciate anything. But I think the 810i is 10x more phone!

I replied to your PM regarding this.

yeah tell me about it. i have the w600i, and no matter how much of a habit i've made it to lock the keypad, it will very often go to the internet and start surfing or start playing music right in the middle of class. but i think the w810i being a bar phone won't have such locking issues, otherwise i'd get the d807.

Posted by: densebynature

also what do you mean by housing change

Posted by: tuolumne

taking off the plastic and replacing it.
