From what I understand of your question, yes I think so.

Well depending on the CDA of the phone it could be a variety of different types. You want it to either be world generic 1 or 2. If its not, then it is unlikely that the newest firmware released from SE will be able to be loaded onto it.

How can I find out from the seller?

I got it from wirelessimports.com as noted above.

Yeah you are correct, I just mean't if you're going to get one no reason not to get world generic 1 or 2. But yeah 1-8 are generic. Even if yours doesn't come generic. Download Kulan Kendi Client. Pay $8 USD and you can convert it to World Generic.

get it. its awesome and alot better. next firmware upgrade is a supposedly OS upgrade to symbian 9.3/uiq 3.1

Also , is net browsing good ( like EVDO on cdma ).
