Crazy text help please :)

I'm aware of putting an ! at the front of a text to make i appear immediately in the "message recieved" alert box, but my other half sent me a message and my phone informs me "sender has reusted a reply" how do i request a reply?
The mind boggles, I'm ona sony ericsson K510i and she's using a w300i.
any tips or links would be appreciated and i've googled myself blind looking.

i used to get that message come up on my K750i when i had it and it basically means that the sender of the text you're reading wants a reply but i dont know how they set that up...
