BlackBerry Outage and Battery Usage?

Has anyone else thought their battery went down faster during this outage? It might just be coincidence, but seems like my battery drain almost doubled. It's not like the drain was from getting too many emails During the outage my display was on "edge", not "EDGE".

Please read my question before making a reply. I was asking if there is any correlation between the outage and accelerated battery drain!

Sure, the phone grabbing out for a signal will drain battery faster.

Thanks dcooksta. That makes sense.

Its not so much the hunt for signal in this situation, but rather the device will continuously attempt to make contact with the RIM infrastructure. And its this "chatty" stuff that will kill your battery faster....

Yes, this does make more sense for this situation.
