Has anyone been able to get this to work on their blackberry pearl?

I can get my 1 gig to work fine, but the 2gig one continually goes on and off.

any recommendations of the type of card i should be using? (currently using a sandisk)

I use a Sandisk 2GB card in my BlackBerry 8800 which I previously used in the BlackBerry Pearl and it works fine. What error are you having with your MicroSD card?

Also, make sure you update your firmware to the latest one. You can view your firmware by going to Options->Status (it should say 4.2.0.XX).

Cingular's .73 is the most updated stable release. Get the info here if you want to update: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1138440

Hi, coworker has a 8800 and I put in a micro sd card pre-loaded with some MP3s and a MPEG4 movie in the root directory of the micro sd card. The 8800 says media card error when I re-boot. Does anyone know if the card needs to be formatted in the 8800 before use or does there have to be sub-folders present ? Thanks.

I am using a Transcend 2 GB card with v4.2.0.51 on Rogers without problems.

I usa a Lexar 2 Gig Micro Sd bought at WalMart. I read on many forums that the 2 Gig cards wouldn't work. But i decided to give it a try and worked as soon as i put it in my Pearl. I'm thinking it's a OS version that made the difference, but all the latest OS's have no problem with 2 Gig cards.... I Believe.

Using a 2 GB SanDisk without a problem.

those of you using 2GB cards without any issues, what's your OS version?

Posted by: gyozaman

I got my 2GB card to work using OS 4.2. I had to format the card in the BB and it created the folders video, pictures, music, etc. I had all my files in the root directory prior to formatting and that was causing the problem. I had a MPEG4 video converted to a Playstation Portable format but it didn't work. The MP3's and photo's worked fine. I'll have to try and convert another video using H.264 standard or something like that and see if that works.

Im using 4.2.1.66 (TIM) and have no problems what so ever with it.
