Cingular SIM card not valid in N90

My fiancee recently purchased a Nokia N90 for me but when I put my Cingular SIM into the phone, I get the message "SIM card not valid". The dealer assured me this was an unlocked phone and would work with Cingular...Is there something I'm overlooking? I've contacted Cingular (no help with 3rd party phones) Nokia and the dealer.

turn it on without the sim and type in *#7370# and then 12345 as the pass let it reset, clean the sim card with isopropyl alcohol and a towel get it nice and wet with alcohol and clean the sim, just dont snap it. then wipe down the sim card contacts on the phones and make sure they are clean and after the hard reset completes on the phone stick the sim in and see if it boots, that the best troubleshooting we can do for you right now without having the handset infront of us, i mean thats what fixed the N75 demo we had at work last week. I was the one who did the cleaning.
