My girlfriends computer has windows vista on it and I have motorola phone tools 4 updated to the newest versions but it always fails installing the drivers for her motorola razr.

Is there a fix for this? Do I need a new version of the software?

2 things - make sure you uninstall all instances of the Motorola drivers in add/remove programs (I forget what they call it in Vista) then install the 2.7.6 drivers - there are two threads in this section with links to the new drivers. Once installed, go to the menu item for the drivers and run the driver installer and tell it the clean and update the drivers. THEN start MPT and you should be fine.

4.5.0b is the first version of MPT that supports Vista (so BVRP says), 4.5.1c is the latest version of MPT.

You might also want to ask at MPT's support forums at www.bvrpforums.com

I have the same problem. Im using Vista and the Motorola software. I have done as stated above. When I start the program, it tells me to plugin the phone, I do that and it starts to setup and installe the phone it says. But It time out few min later.

Its a driver problem. because I can access the phones mem card with the USB cable.

The new 2.7.6 drivers are now digitally signed so you might want to install those instead of the slightly older 2.6.2 drivers.
