Ok people...I need some serious help here. I am interested in purchasing this phone when its released this July. I just had a few questions since this will be my first pda phone.

1. Will the GPS feature on this phone work in the United States?

2. If the GPS will work in the States, do I have to buy any additional hardware or software to make the navigation system work?

3. Is there a monthly fee for the GPS service?

4. Does this phone include everything I need to start using GPS ?

I am currently with T-mobile and enjoy their service and do not want to switch providers...I plan to buy this phone unlocked when it becomes available....But the navigation/GPS feature is very imporatant to me...Thanks again.

GPS will work anywhere in the world. It connects to satellites in outerspace, so that shouldn't be a problem. If you are going to use GPS in areas where there is network data coverage (in the city, etc.) then you could probably use Google Maps with GPS via your data connection. If you want pre-loaded maps you can buy packages from Tom Tom, Co-Pilot, etc. There are a bunch of them out there from various companies. T-Mobile MIGHT try and charge for some navigation plan like Cingular is doing with Telenav (I've heard rumors of this if they release the GPS enabled Blackberry 8300), but there are ways around that.

I just read that it will have a SCROLL WHEEL! Awesome! That is some new news right there. I might just have to wait and get this device too! Although I am doubtful the UMTS/HSPDA will work on T-Mobile because of the incompatible bands.
