Is there a way to reset the phone to not have it ask for the passcode everytime he turns it on. Not sure why he locked it up in the first place but now hes stuck with the passcode screen when he starts up. Any suggestions help. TIA

Other then a hard reset, I don't know of any other way. Try google.

Hard reset. That's be your best bet without extensive research.

I was thinking the hard reste but it won't even let us get that far without getting past the screen where the passcode is reguired. as far as google goes, I know howardforums got to have the answer before google.

Hold down both the softkeys (with the - on them) and push the stylus in the reset hole on the bottom.

If you could do it without wiping the device, it would be a pretty worthless passcode system...

True, but then not everyone knows how to hard reset a device, plus its meant as a deterrent, not an absolute method of stopping someone, its like a firewall that way.

Right, what I meant was that a hard reset pretty much has to be the only way out of it. That keeps your data from being compromised if you lose the device. If there was a way to reset the passcode without wiping the data then it's no security at all.
