Since there is little inbuilt memory, I am going to buy a new miniSD card for my 6700. Can I install application directly into the card ? Where do I configre to make the applications to be installed in the card rather than the system memory ? Are there any specefic softwares that are required to be installed in the system memory itself ?

Thank you !

Yes, you can install apps to the miniSD card, with a few exceptions. When you run the install, the installer will ask you whether to install to "main memory" or "storage card".

The exceptions? Do not install any programs to the miniSD card that need to run automatically at startup (examples would be any program that somehow affects the Today screen). That will cause you problems... something to do with the storage card not being available until the startup process is complete).

Any app that you open manually should be fine. As an example, I am posting this from my 6700 using the Opera web browser which is installed on my miniSD card.

BTW, 2GB is a real sweet spot right now as far as price/capacity... take a look at the Tiger Direct website. I have both the Transcend and A-Data 2GB cards and they both work great. One's $25, the other is $30.
