can someone let me know how the tmobile dash compares to the sidekick 3 while using aim?

my sidekick has crapped out twice already and now my warranty is voided? its total bull, they said water damage, but thats bs, regardless

i need a new phone, and prompt responses will be appreciated

or if you have any other suggestions for t mobile phones with qwerty keyboard + aim on them

the dash is a smart phone it kicks the sidekick out of the water of course...

as of aim as long as you can talk to send and recieve im's your good in my book..

the default prgram that it comes with is ok for getting things done. but if you want """"sidekick like""""" aim then you would need something like IM+ or agile messenger...

i converted from the sidekick as well and unfortunately nothing even comes close to the sidekick aim program. But thats the only thing that the sidekick has better. there are a few programs that do come close though. i would definitely recommend switching.

i must admit... there are two things i completely HATE about the dash and totally miss when it comes to the sidekick 3. one is that the keyboard flatout SUCKS on the dash. i used to be able to type like 80 wpm on the sidekick i probably could have entered one of those contests for fastest texter lol. and Two i cant check peoples away messages or see there icons/pictures they had like on the sidekick. i really LOVED the aim program on the sidekick im almost half tempted to go back to the sidekick fo the two simple facts that texting and AIM were my life with that phone. and now i get so frustrated with the text messages and the AIM convos that i have been using my computer more than my phone and using my minutes more than my unlimited text messaging. i really miss those two features because those were the two features that drove me to buy a sidekick in the first place from a reg phone. id never go back to a phone w/o a full keyboard again but i am ready to trade in the Dash. ... any suggestions? or if there going to update the sidekick features in the next 6 months to a sidekick 4 cuz as far as the rest of the sidekick features go and how bulky it thats what made me change over to the dash. but im going threw a texting/AIM withdrawl here. any help ??!!

i have to say is that the sidekick aim is the best aim of all phones on the market today... but the thing with the dash is that all the other featurres that it gives you is a lot better then the sidekick other then the IMing programs...

i dropped my sk3 in water as well.. i have insurance on it that i pay every month.. and tmobile wont do crap.. im also thinkin bout going to the dash.. but aim plays a very important role in the phone i pick so is it worth it? i see most of u has upgraded from the sk3 to the dash? yay or nay? sorry for thread jacking

i didnt drop mine in water for the record its sitting on my desk in its original box. 2 dont pay for insurance threw cell phone companies its a rip off. 3 either resign for 2 more years to get a new phone which u can resign as many times as you want it only extends the contract from the time you resign. so if you signed up on may 1 2007 and wanted a new phone today ur new contract is from june 1, 2007 - june 1st 2009. if you dont want to be locked in by contract ebay is ur bestfriend just make sure the person has high feedback. i want to put my sidekick on ebay so it is as of right now for sale if u wana to work something out shoot me a PM that saves me the costs of putting it on ebay and its in perfect working condition i just chose to upgrade to the dash b/c i got tired of lugging a bulky phone around. otherwise id still be using it. which is why i havent parted from it yet but maybe thats what i need it out of my site to get over it i dont know. i still need suggestions to my own thread though!!
