I want to Differentiate my sms from my email. IS there a way to change the color of the message if it's sms or email? I have already changed the ring but i would like to see a diffrence.

If you go into your options once you are in the messages folder...under general options there should and option to separate sms and email

I didn't find it there? Anyone have exact instructions how to do this?
Thanks

Sure, here are the exact, step by step instructions.

Open your messages folder,
press the blackberry action key,
using the track ball scroll all the way to the bottom of the menu,
now you should see the word "options" 3 menu items above you,
using the trackball, slowly roll the ball upward until the "options" menu item is highlighted,
depress the trackball, being careful not to put too much side to side or up and down pressure on it,
a new menu should pop up, listing only to options,
"General Option" will be highlighted by default, press the trackball straight down again, using the previous method,
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the menu,
"SMS and Email Inboxes" will be highlighted, select the the Blackberry action key, and select "change option",
Highlight the "Separate" menu option and and depress the trackball yet again,
Now press the Blackberry action key again, highlight "Save" and depress the trackball again,
Now you can press the Red "END" button, and you should now have two inboxes, messages and SMS

Hope that helps,
Chris

I don't have the SMS and Email Inboxes option? is there an OS upgrade that i need to do this? Can you specify the color of the sms? I have 3 emails coming to this phone it would be nice for all three to have a different color.
Thanks again

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Are you sure you have the Blackberry 8800 or do you have the Blackberry 8100 or Pearl? Afaik all the 8800's shipped with the ability to have seperate sms and e-mail boxes. And for further clarification, it is not a matter of differnt colors for diferent accounts, it is actually a totaly seperate inbox on your desktop. Basically your mesages folder will no longer contain any sms or mms messages. If you have the Pearl, I can't help as I have not used one.

It's not just the BlackBerry 8800 that can do this, my BlackBerry 8700 can also do this since I upgraded it to the new 4.2. OS and I also noticed this on the BlackBerry Pearl when I upgraded the OS to 4.2.1.66. I prefer this feature since before having a seperate sms/mms folder was dictated by what theme you used.

For the BlackBerry Pearl owners who are running an OS version older than 4.2.1.66 (IE 4.2.0.73, 4.2.0.71, etc...) you will not have this option if you go to messages/general options and scroll down. Seperating sms/mms folders on these OS versions are theme controlled.

If you get a email that's more then a certain size, it stops downloading it to save you data. When you scroll to the bottom of that email, it will automatically grab more of the email from the server.

Does anyone know where to find some themes with seperate email and sms mailboxes?

Zen does this on the 8700. I'm not sure about the 8100 as I won't touch the things...

Is there any way to do this on the Pearl? If not, maybe in future upgrades? Thanks!

(Annoying that my sms's are mixed in with my emails).
