So thinking I would go get a nice upgrade for my trustworthy hacked v710, I head out to the verizon store and pick up a RAZR maxx Ve.

Of course, verizon has it all locked up. I was able to get around some image and mp3 limitations with a TF Card loaded with stuff and moving things between the phone and card.

What I cannot seem to get around is the ring tone setup. There is no way (loop hole or plotted) to use an mp3 as a ringtone. They make sure you cannot import ringtones (different than sounds and music) from a tf card or cannot use a sound or music as a ring tone if local. I even tried recording a sound note to the tf card, putting it in my comp replacing my mp3 with that file name and extension (qcp) and putting it back in the phone. The sound note was now my song but no way to use as a ring tone.

It forces you to use GET IT NOW.

VERIZON IS THE DEVIL

JUST LET US USE OUR PHONES FREELY IN PEACE

Anyone have any suggestions, hacks, mods, cracks, tips or tricks they want to share?

Verizons software sucks compared to the GSM RAZR maxx v6 software and UI.

We are getting ripped off...
