hey! Im a little new to this, but i just got my pearl not long ago, and i am loving it! by far the best phone ive had for a while.... I was just wondering a few things.
A) How does the auto dim work on it.

B) what are some cool things/cheap applications i can put on or do to my phone to say "pimp" it out.

You'll find a lot just by browsing around the forum. Also check blackberryforums.

The auto dim sensor is in the top right of the phone in the same place as the LED that flashes to tell you a message is waiting (among other things). When you're in a dark place the backlight dims so it won't blind you, and the keypad turns on so you can see to type. In bright places, the backlight turns all the way up so you can see the screen in daylight (sorta), and the keypad light turns off.

IMO, the "coolest" things to pimp out the phone are to personalize your theme, and maybe install colorpearl (do a search). Colorpearl is a free (donations accepted) application to change the color of the trackball.

First of all do a battery pull once u install the theme, then go to options/theme and u should find it on there
