hey guys...i just got my cingular 8125, i feel like a part of the family now .
This is one of the greatest piece of technology ever! I really love this thing.
However, i have some tough questions. Sorry, if it has been asked already, im not sure, because I searched the forums, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

1. I have Aim 2.0 for my mobile, and its installed and everything, however, how do you work it. I see no spots for me to insert text (screen name) and log on.

2. About the wifi settings, I really can't determing, if i am using my own wifi settings without being charged. I did most of the stuff needed, such as delete GPRS connection (which i read on another thread), but left the other connection that has a phone number on it, because it looked important. So the main question I have is what is the best way to connect to your own wifi and know that your aren't getting charged.

*I checked my connectivity and it IS connected to my router via wifi on. And I browsed online and stuff, (couldn't get youtube to work) and seemed fine, but how do i know if im getting charged for using it or not. Because even though I see my connectivity 'CONNECTED' with the name of the router I am using, I am afraid that I might be getting charged for data sent.

3. Is there a way to work youtube? I know it has been a problem in many threads, but I was wondering, because I just installed flash player 7 PPC, haven't actually tested it, but read that youtube is flash player 8 now. Are there actually free web browsers to download that will be able to play those files?

***Thanks a lot guys, im sorry to be a burden if this is all repeats, its just that I am real anxious and its hard for me to find the certain solution I am after. Thanks for listening

My AIM: xstyleztx

get at me on AIM on im on if you can help me thanks a lot.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 6.8) HTC-8500/1.2 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

You got an 8125? Ouch (haha just kidding)

Anyways, if you clear out the connections settins, it won't mess up your calls (you will need to remove a number, 777 I think.

Then you should be good, except for having a brick in your pockets.

anyone got any ideas?

If you see the WiFi icon at the top of the screen, and a normal E icon (without the little G with arrows), you should be good. If your Edge tries to connect, just press your end key until you get the solid E again.

Another thing to try is this:

You toggle whether the Edge/Gprs connections are allowed. If they are off, you apparently will not be able to rec'v SMS.

^ i c....so as long as the tower icon is on with two arrows (not moving) going rite and left, there is no way i am being charged, and I am completely on my own wireless connection rite?

1- The AIM mobile you have has a few "disabled" feature. Click on news and it'll bring up a login and password screen. PM me if you want a version of AIM that includes the full login.

2- I can somewhat help you with this because I removed my medianet settings from Cingular. Click on Start-> Settings-> Connections(tab)-> Connections-> Advanced(Tab)-> Select Networks. From here you should have a connection for MediaNet (don't know what it's named). You should make another one for WiFi. Click New->Name it (WiFi)-> Modem(tab)(nothing should be listed)-> Proxy Settings(tab)(check "This network connects to the Internet"; Don't mess with the proxy server settings). Then click "OK". Your settings should be saved. To switch from WiFi to MediaNet just go back into the Connections Setting and change it back.

3- YouTube isn't going to work anytime soon. We are using a very outdated Flash Player (v7, I believe). YouTube requires like v8 or 9. There are a bunch of sites out there that will convert YouTube videos into formats that can be played on the ppc.

Hope that helps.
